Governor’s pardon and expungement for criminal charges.
Gaining a Governor’s Pardon
Hi, my name is Jansen Rigney. I am the criminal, family, and soft intellectual property attorney in Wagner County for the Wirth Law Office, and we’ve been talking a little bit about criminal misdemeanor and felony expungements. The first two sections we want to talk about today is the governor’s pardon. The governor can pardon you for all charges and convictions that you have had, and if you get that as an adult, then you automatically qualify for an expungement for those charges.
Another way that that would happen is if you are under 18 and you file for a governor’s pardon, you can get it expunged that way. If you were under 18 when you committed the criminal misdemeanor felony and then received a pardon, it would make sense that you can get an expungement for that as well. Now the expungement will remove the charges and convictions from the public record, meaning that it will make it hard for any employers to find you, but that charge, those convictions, and those subsequent arrests will be available to law enforcement at all times.
Seeking Legal Advice
They will not be removed from the law enforcement logs. So keep that in mind, and if you have any questions on criminal misdemeanor felony expungements or pardons for that matter, please reach out to the Wirth Law Office. You can contact me directly.
